My Story

I am originally from the United States, and currently live in the Islington area of London with my husband. I hold a Master’s Degree in classical piano performance from New York City’s prestigious Manhattan School of Music, where I studied with Dr. Joanne Polk. During my time in graduate school, I performed twice in the Manhattan School of Music Chamber Music Festival, working with fellow pianists and other instrumentalists. I also entered the school’s concerto competition and accompanied my colleagues in it. After graduation, I left New York City to continue my performing and teaching career in the Philadelphia area. In pursuing further post-university study, I’ve been fortunate to enjoy the great privilege of working with Mike Garson, who was David Bowie’s pianist for many years.

I attended West Chester University of Pennsylvania for my undergraduate studies in classical piano performance under the tutelage of Dr. Terry Klinefelter. While at West Chester, I was awarded three performance-based scholarships and won the school’s freshman keyboard scholarship competition. I was given many opportunities to perform, which included master classes taught by notable pianists such as Brian Ganz, Dmitry Rachmanov, Seymour Bernstein, and Ann Schein. Upon graduation, I won the Jacobs Music Steinway Award as a result of a nomination by my West Chester University professors.

I began teaching piano lessons in 2004, working with a group of local students in my New Jersey hometown, and since then have maintained a busy teaching career. I’ve worked for a variety of music schools and agencies in the United States, such as Settlement Music School based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Conservatory of Musical Arts in Audubon, New Jersey.

I started piano lessons at the age of six with Mary Jane Fast in my hometown of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, inspired after hearing a young pianist perform with a local orchestra. Learning to play piano fostered in me a strong joy and appreciation of the arts at an early age, and I am dedicated to sharing that passion with others, both as a performer and educator.
